She was scouted by a coach from the Indonesian Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Bodybuilding Association [PABBSI] of Aceh Province. "One day in November 2009, after graduating from junior high, a gentleman named Effendi Eria came to our house. I didn't know who he was, and then he introduced himself as a coach. He was travelling around the province to scout potential weightlifters. He heard from our neighbours that I always carried sacks of rice. I thought there would be no harm in accepting his offer, and I could also help my parents financially. Training was hard, but I kept on going." (cnnindonesia, 18 Aug 2021)
