MOVE TO COACHING
Having captained the Wales sevens team, he says he always intended to become a coach. "I have always had ambition to coach and I suppose I had better opportunities to coach than I did to play, to be honest. I've pretty much studied and coached ever since I started playing professional rugby. It was basically an ongoing process of looking after myself because rugby is pretty unpredictable." (scmp, 07 Oct 2016)

EDUCATION
After completing a bachelor's degree in sports and exercise at the University of South Wales in 2010, he studied for a master's degree in sports coaching at the same institution between 2011 and 2014. He then undertook a doctorate in sports coaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University from 2017 to 2021. (LinkedIn profile, 21 Mar 2023)
