Team Overview

General
Indonesia made their Asian Games women's hockey debut as the host nation in 2018. Their tournament began with a heavy 8-0 defeat to eventual runners-up India and a 5-0 loss to the Republic of Korea. The team then recorded their first Asian Games win against Kazakhstan, after two final-quarter goals saw them come from behind to claim a 2-1 victory. Another defeat to Thailand [2-0] left Indonesia in the seventh place play-off, which they won 2-0 against Chinese Taipei.

The Indonesian team featured at the Asia Cup for the first time in 2022, ranking last out of eight teams. They suffered group stage defeats to the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China, before losing out to Malaysia and Singapore in the classification round.

Indonesia placed fourth in the round-robin at the 2023 South East Asian Games in Cambodia. They finished fourth at the South East Asian Games in 2015 and 2017, losing the bronze medal game to Singapore on both occasions.
