Team Overview

General
Nepal are making their first Asian Games appearance in women's handball at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.

The Nepali team competed at the South Asian Games in both 2016 and 2019. They just missed out on the podium at the 2016 Games in Guwahati, losing 28-24 to Pakistan in the bronze medal match, but they claimed silver three years later when they were hosts of the event. Having finished top of a group containing Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, they defeated Pakistan 22-21 in the semifinals before suffering a 35-21 loss to India in the gold medal match.
