Team Overview

General
The Republic of Korea finished on the podium at every edition of the Asian Games to feature women's team epee between 1990 and 2018. They claimed their sole title in 2002 in Busan, beating the People's Republic of China for gold. They have been losing finalists on five occasions, including at the two most recent editions of the Games in 2014 and 2018.

The Korean team have competed at five of the six Olympic Games in which women's team epee has been contested, winning two silver medals. They claimed their first at the 2012 Games in London, losing 39-25 to the People's Republic of China in the final, and were runners-up to Estonia at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

The Koreans won their first world title in 2022, beating Italy 45-37 in the final in Cairo to secure gold. The team had claimed their first podium finish at the 2010 tournament in Paris, where they won bronze, and were losing finalists in 2018 in Wuxi. At the 2023 tournament in Milan, they lost to eventual champions Poland in the semifinals before beating Switzerland in the third place match to secure bronze. The Korean team have won the last three titles at the Asian championships [2019, 2022, 2023]. They have won a total of six gold medals at the tournament since 2003, and finished as runners-up on a further 10 occasions.
