In September 2022 he fractured a finger on his left hand during training. He was unable to compete at the All Japan Senior Championships that were held in the same month. (Instagram profile, 08 Oct 2022; jiji, 14 Sep 2022)

In April 2021 he damaged ligaments in both elbows while performing on horizontal bar at the All Japan Championships. The tournament also served as the national selection trials for the 2020 Olympic Games. (daily, 19 Apr 2021; hochi, 18 Apr 2021)
