Team Overview

General
The Republic of Korea have won by far the most men's team recurve gold medals at the Asian Games with eight, and are in fact the only team with multiple Asian Games titles. However, their most recent triumph came at the 2010 Games in Guangzhou. After eight consecutive golds between 1982 and 2010, their reign came to an end at Incheon 2014, where they lost out 5-4 in the semifinals to eventual champions the People's Republic of China and were forced to settle for bronze.

Four years later in Indonesia, despite placing first in the ranking round and gaining a measure of revenge for 2014 on the Chinese team in the semifinals, the Koreans lost in the gold medal match to Chinese Taipei, 5-3. The team finished on the Asian Games podium at all 10 editions of the Games between 1982 and 2018.

The Republic of Korea are the reigning Olympic champions, where they have been the dominant force. They have secured six out of the nine gold medals on offer in the event since 1988, with no other team winning more than one. At Tokyo 2020 they defeated Chinese Taipei 6-0 in the gold medal match.

At the world championships, the Republic of Korea's 13 gold medals is second only to the US team's 15. They have triumphed at the two most recent editions of the tournament, beating hosts the United States of America 6-0 in the final in 2021, before defeating Turkiye 6-2 in the gold medal match at the 2023 World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

The team have been similarly dominant at the Asian championships in recent years, winning five consecutive titles between 2013 and 2021.
