NOC Overview

Macau, China has competed in every edition of the Asian Games since making its debut at the 1990 Games in Beijing, People's Republic of China.

Wushu and karate have provided Macau, China with the vast majority of its medals at the Asian Games. Wushu athlete Wong Tong Leong secured Macau, China's first podium finish by claiming bronze in the men's nanquan in 1990. In Guangzhou 20 years later, the NOC celebrated its first Asian Games champion when wushu athlete Rui Jia won the men's daoshu and gunshu all-around title. In 2018 in Indonesia, wushu athlete Jun Hua Huang claimed the NOC's second gold medal at the Asian Games by winning the men's nanquan and nangun all-around competition.

The NOC won a further four medals at Indonesia 2018. Karatekas Soi Lam Sou and Sok I Wong claimed silver and bronze in the women's individual kata and 55kg kumite events, respectively, while Hoi Long secured bronze in the women's triathlon and Li Yi won silver in the women's changquan wushu event.
