NOC Overview
Lebanon has appeared at every edition of the Asian Games since making its debut in 1978, and the NOC has claimed five gold medals in that time.
Weightlifter Kheir Tarabulsi won Lebanon's first gold medal at the 1978 Games in the 75kg category. Eight years later another weightlifter, Issam El Homsi, added the NOC's second gold in the 110kg division at the 1986 Games. Anouti Mohammed triumphed in the men's heavyweight bodybuilding category in 2002, while John Claude Rabbath added Lebanon's fourth Asian Games gold medal in the men's high jump in 2006.
Lebanon enjoyed its most successful Asian Games in 2018 in Indonesia, where four athletes took home medals. Women's shooter Ray Bassil was the NOC's only multi-medallist in Indonesia with bronze in the women's individual trap event and gold in the mixed team trap event alongside Alain Moussa. Freestyle wrestler Domenic Michael Abounader secured silver in the 86kg category, and taekwondoka Laetitia Aoun won bronze in the 53kg division in Indonesia to become the NOC's youngest female Asian Games medallist at 17 years and 128 days.
