In June 2022 she sustained injuries to her head and cervical spine when she was involved in a car accident in Malaysia. She required surgery and missed the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. She returned to competition in January 2023. She has two training sessions a day, and includes long runs in her schedule. "When I was really young, I used to do a lot of long runs, which really helped me now [speaking in 2021]. I would always suggest junior players to do long runs because it's really helpful in the long term. I won't say I'm really fit, but I am somewhat fit to play a 45-minute match because of the long runs I did when I was a junior." (Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia Facebook page, 15 Jun 2021)

COLLEGIATE SQUASH
In 2019 she began studying at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, United States of America. "I think choosing whether to go pro or do both [was the hardest decision to make]. For me, I would love to go pro, but also I think it is important to get a degree. To be honest, I wasn't planning to come to the States. I was just planning maybe to get a degree in Malaysia and then just continue training back home. But, I think this is a really good opportunity. I've been here for two years [speaking in 2021], and I think it's one of the best decisions I've made so far. I think [coach] David Palmer has a very strong mental game which I think I've learned from him. Also, I think I've grown mentally stronger by just being very independent here." (Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia Facebook page, 15 Jun 2021)
