After graduating from university he considered moving to the Republic of Korea to compete professionally, but chose to remain in Japan and turned professional in April 2019 after signing a sponsorship contract with an equipment manufacturer. "I originally considered joining a corporate team. However, I began wondering whether I would actually be able to play the sport for a living when I saw many talented senior players training after their jobs as office workers. And then I decided to take a new path which would increase my options for a professional career. It's unprecedented, but I think there's great value in taking on the challenge.
