Additional Information

General
TURNING PROFESSIONAL
After graduating from university he considered moving to the Republic of Korea to compete professionally, but chose to remain in Japan and turned professional in April 2019 after signing a sponsorship contract with an equipment manufacturer. "I originally considered joining a corporate team. However, I began wondering whether I would actually be able to play the sport for a living when I saw many talented senior players training after their jobs as office workers. And then I decided to take a new path which would increase my options for a professional career. It's unprecedented, but I think there's great value in taking on the challenge. I usually believe in my intuition without thinking about consequences. If you decide to do it, you have no choice but to go for it." (sjn, 28 Apr 2020)
