She first tried tennis in the fourth grade of primary school. She began playing soft tennis during the first grade of middle school. (ssu, 17 Apr 2021)

Her mother introduced her to tennis as a child, but she quit the sport as she was dissatisfied with her results. Her middle school superintendent Lin Chun Chi encouraged her to sign up for soft tennis and athletics, and later suggested she focus on playing singles in soft tennis after she placed eighth at a national middle school competition.
