She grew up in a sporting family. She decided to focus on kumite over kata after becoming a member of the Iranian national team. "Before joining the national team, I trained and competed in both events, but when I reached the national team, I entered a competition in kata and kumite and became a champion in both. I was immediately told that I had to choose one of them, so after consulting with my coach I chose kumite." (gilkhabar, 12 Sep 2019; khabarvarzeshi, 27 Nov 2018)
