Team Overview

General
Bangladesh have competed at every Asian Games since kabaddi was first included in the programme in 1990. The team finished on the podium at every Games between 1990 and 2006, winning three silver and two bronze medals, but they did not progress to the knockout stage at the 2010, 2014, or 2018 editions. At the 2018 Games in Indonesia they beat Sri Lanka and Thailand but lost to the Republic of Korea and India in the group stage.

Bangladesh have also collected medals at the South Asian Games, winning three silver and seven bronze since kabaddi's debut at the Games in 1985. In 2019 the team shared a third-place finish with Pakistan.

At the first two editions of the World Cup [international format], which occurred in 2004 and 2007, Bangladesh shared third place. The team failed to advance from the group stage at the third edition of the tournament in 2016, despite claiming victories over Australia, Argentina, and England.
