Before his appointment as head coach of the Indian men's national team, he had been an assistant coach with the Belgium men's team since 2018. Before that he was head coach of the Ireland men's national team from 2014 to 2018. Previously he was an assistant coach for the Irish men's team from 2006 to 2009, the South African women's national team in 2011, and the South African men's national team from 2013 to 2014. He has also spent time as coach of Belgian club team KHC Dragons and Irish club team Pembroke Wanderers.
