Team Overview

General
The Philippines women's football team are making their Asian Games debut at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.

They have competed at 10 editions of the Asian Cup and reached the semifinals for the first time at the 2022 tournament in India. The team edged past Thailand 1-0 in their first group game and though they then lost 4-0 to Australia, they secured second place in the group after a 6-0 triumph over Indonesia. The Philippines required a penalty shoot-out to defeat Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals, before they were beaten 2-0 by the Republic of Korea in the last four.

The team's run to the semifinals at the 2022 Asian Cup earned them a place at their first World Cup in 2023.

The Philippines claimed their first AFF championship title as hosts in 2022, defeating Thailand 3-0 in the final. They also won bronze at the 2021 South East Asian Games, following a semifinal defeat to Thailand and a bronze medal match victory over Myanmar.
