Team Overview

General
Chinese Taipei won back-to-back gold medals in their first two appearances in the Asian Games men's football tournament.

They claimed their first title on debut in 1954 in Manila, where they recorded a 5-2 victory over the Republic of Korea in the final. Four years later Chinese Taipei once again met the Korean team in the final, triumphing 3-2 after extra time to win their second gold medal.

The Chinese Taipei team made their first Asian Games appearance of the 21st century at Indonesia 2018 and were drawn in Group A alongside Indonesia, Palestine, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Hong Kong, China. Following a 0-0 draw with Palestine in their opening match, they lost their remaining three matches and ended the tournament ranked last of 25 teams.

Chinese Taipei have competed at the Olympic Games once, finishing bottom of their group at the 1960 Games after suffering losses to Italy, Brazil, and Great Britain.
