Team Overview

General
Kuwait won four medals at the Asian Games between 1982 and 1998, but have not returned to the podium since. They began their medal collection with silver at the 1982 Games, followed by bronze in 1986 and 1994, and another silver in 1998 when they lost 2-0 to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the final. Their last participation was in 2014 in Incheon, where they beat Nepal 5-0 but lost to Japan and Iraq and did not progress from their group.

In 2022 the Kuwaiti team made their second appearance at the AFC U23 Asian Cup. They lost all three of their matches in Uzbekistan to Australia, Jordan, and Iraq, and did not advance from Group B. They were eliminated at the same stage at the 2013 edition of the tournament.

Kuwait have competed at the Olympic Games on three occasions. The team's best performance came on debut in 1980, when they were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage by eventual bronze medallists the Soviet Union.
