MOVE TO GERMANY
After having difficulties in finding a coach to train him, in 2017 he left Kolkata, India, and moved to Paderborn, Germany, to train with German equestrian Hubertus Schmidt. "We researched international riders and stables on the internet. The Schmidt family replied and so I travelled to Germany to get to know each other and prepare for the first time. After that it was clear that I could start my training here. When I shifted to Germany in 2017, I was at E-level with no knowledge about true riding and almost no show experience." NATIONAL FIRST
He and Shruti Vora became the first Indian dressage riders to compete at the world championships when they rode at the 2022 edition in Herning, Denmark. "My greatest achievement so far in dressage is to have qualified for the [2022] World Championships in Herning. This is the first time that India has qualified for a world championships in dressage. This is a great moment for the future of sport in India as it paves the way for hopefully many more aspirants to take up this not so common sport in India."
