His younger brothers Kim Yeong-Taek and Kim Yeong-Ho have both competed in diving. Yeong-Taek was part of the Korean team at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, while Yeong-Ho won bronze in the synchronised 3m springboard at the 2021 World Junior Championships in Kyiv, Ukraine.
