MOTIVATION
She considered retiring from competitive athletics while she was studying at Kyushu Kyoritsu University, as she was unsure about how far her potential could take her. However, one day coach Hikita Akihisa asked her if she was prepared to devote herself to the sport and pursue a career in athletics. "At that moment, I thought, 'Let's give it my all, at least for now'. The most significant change was redirecting the various scattered paths in my life towards the sport, altering my mindset. During high school and university, I had considered quitting, but my life took a turn and I truly believe that continuing was the right decision. There are many high school students with potential, yet many athletes choose not to persist. I hope they don't give up and keep pushing forward. If even one or two individuals are inspired by our journey and decide to continue, it would make us very happy." (rikujyokyogi, 27 Apr 2023)
