In 2017 she sustained a knee injury which sidelined her for over a year. In 2021 the pain reappeared and after six months struggling to locate the injury it was determined it was knee plica syndrome. She was then advised to undergo surgery in 2022. She was out of action for 10 months, missing both the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, and the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, OR, United States of America.
