Team Overview

General
Indonesia finished on the podium at the first two Asian Games to feature men's team recurve. They claimed bronze on their debut at the 1978 Games in Bangkok, then bettered that performance with silver in 1982. However, they have made only two further Asian Games appearances, and did not manage to secure a medal in either 1998 or 2018.

Competing at the Asian Games for the first time in 20 years as hosts of the 2018 Games, the Indonesian team lost 6-2 in the round of 16 to Japan. Since then they have won gold at both the 2019 and 2021 editions of the South East Asian Games.

Indonesia made their Olympic debut in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and returned to the Olympic Games at Tokyo 2020, losing in the quarterfinals and the first knockout round, respectively. The Indonesians have been regular participants at the world championships since 2005. They produced their best showing at the competition in 2023 in Germany, where they reached the quarterfinals before losing 6-2 to Italy.
