3x3 Basketball - Team Malaysia

Malaysia are competing in the Asian Games men's 3x3 basketball tournament for the second time. In 2018 in Indonesia, where the sport made its Asian Games debut as an U23 competition, the team defeated Turkmenistan [17-13] and Afghanistan [22-9] but lost their other three pool stage matches against the Iranian, Kazakhstani, and Iraqi teams and did not qualify for the knockout rounds.

The senior Malaysian team have taken part in five editions of the Asia Cup since 2017 without progressing past the qualifying round. They won two of their three games at the 2023 Asia Cup in Singapore, beating Brunei Darussalam and Hong Kong, China, but a 21-19 defeat to the Islamic Republic of Iran meant they failed to advance to the pool phase.
